Weardale Stones

Andy and his family live and work in Rookhope, and they were very enthusiastic workshop participants throughout the Map Panel project. Between them, they experimented with all the skill techniques on offer including weaving, felt-making, screenprinting, stitching, hooky matting and are still busy with their fabric books.

Andy is very keen on the geology of the area and gave us an impromptu teaching session on the amazing stones and crystals to be found all across the Dales.

He even drove back to Rookhope to bring back some of his best examples for us to examine and learn more about.
